It is my privilege on behalf of the folks of East Kilbride Old Parish to offer our congratulations to Canon Ryan on the Golden Anniversary of his ordination.

It has been a joy for me personally to work alongside him in our many ventures together. Our joint service to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is now firmly fixed in our calendar, as is the joint bible study which our own parishioners and those of St Bride’s faith community share during our journey through Lent. Yet there is much more to our working together than these events, for surely our Christian unity is shown in the fellowship we share together. At any event, some of the best times are when “Our folks” and “Your folks” get together over a cup of tea and the always-impressive home baking. That’s when we genuinely share Christian fellowship.

I know that Canon Ryan is held in high regard by the members of East Kilbride Old Parish. We congratulate you on your Golden Anniversary of your ordination. May God continue to bless you in all that you do.
